Canal Life Today

The canal and its surrounding areas may no longer be used to transport goods to the Swansea coast and beyond, but the richness of life it supports today is equally as important.

Our biodiversity information, explains in more detail the area’s importance as a natural habitat, supporting a diverse wildlife, including a rare species of spider found in only 3 locations in the UK.

The canal has supported its local community for centuries but now we must look at its potential to support that community in different ways.

We explore this potential in our community section; why not visit to discover the possibilities right here on our doorstep.
