long and important history entwined with the development of our local industry. In instigating its construction, George Tennant realised the potential of the canal as a fast route to transport coal from the mines to the dock at Swansea, allowing for efficient access to shipping. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-css-bahfk\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-utvmk\" data-uniq-id=\"tbtyo\"><span class=\"brz-cp-color6\">Although George Tennant was key in its development, the history of
